Elemental Analysis Service

The elemental analysis service provides an accurate determination of elemental composition (C/H/N/S) in a wide variety of chemical compounds (organics, inorganics, solids, oils, liquids, etc.).

Sample quality

It should be noted, however, that the results of the analysis will reflect the amount and nature of various contaminants present in the sample (moisture, solvent, dust etc.), such that the experimentally determined composition might not correspond to the "expected" values.

Therefore, it is very important that samples are dry, homogeneous and free of impurities. It is also necessary for our technicians to know the approximate chemical composition of the sample and the expected percentages of each element in it.

Procedure for submission of samples for analysis

Request form (in French) (1 per sample) should be sent by e-mail.

Sample(s) in well-marked sample vials should be sent to our laboratory at the address indicated on the form. Note that a minimum of 10 mg is usually needed for a careful analysis. The analysis results will be sent to you within 5 working days after receipt of your samples by the Laboratory.
